We Are
The Giving Garden Project

About the Project

At The Giving Garden Project, we aim to make a lasting impact in the Stockport area and beyond. Our objective is to provide a free flower delivery service to those who need it the most.

My Grandma spent a number of years as a resident at two local care homes due to having Dementia. During this time I noticed some residents would never get any visitors, and would spend most of their time alone.

My Grandma was a keen gardener, so when she passed I thought it would be a great idea to hand out free flowers to residents from local care homes. Specifically focussing on residents who are lonely or are going through a hard time.

In 2023 we were lucky enough to partner with Borough Care too,  one of the largest not–for-profit residential care providers in the Northwest. See below for a few articles!

‘This is a fantastic project from an amazing young man. At Borough Care, our motto is Life in Colour, and we believe that everyone - regardless of their familial situation - should experience joy in our homes.

We have also thought of the bigger picture here at the Giving Garden. We hand out free bouquets to people struggling outside of care homes too. This is achieved through our  confidential nomination form on our home page.

We will choose a select amount each week, and the nominators will be directly messaged to get the recipients address. A beautiful bouquet will then be left on the doorstep of the nominated address, either with a note or just the blooms themselves. Don't worry - we'll provide a charity business card along with the flowers to make sure the nominee doesn't get the wrong idea.

Whether it's someone who is particularly lonely or a family member who's struggling, we aim to brighten up their day with our kindness bouquets.

Our Poem

In the heart of a garden, so enchanting and bright, Blossoms flourished with colours, a mesmerising sight. It was The Giving Garden, where kindness did bloom, Where flowers whispered stories, dispelling all gloom.

In this sacred haven, compassion took its stand,

A haven where seeds of generosity were fanned.

For every bloom that graced the earth's gentle face,

A donation was made, spreading hope's embrace.
